While Carmen Ohio perfectly expresses the revere all Buckeyes have for their alma mater. Dougherty Jr. felt it didn’t embody the necessary notes to amp up the Scarlet and Gray before stomping the gridiron. thus he took it upon himself to write and add the now-classic Across the Field to the catalogue.
